Legend has it that one spring morning Aphrodite, the Goddess of Beauty and Love, was awakened suddenly by her father, Zeus. In the rush, the Goddess lost seven gems from her splendid necklace, which fell into the Mediterranean Sea and became the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. The gem at the centre of Aphrodite’s necklace became Elba, the island set in the bluest sea, and which continues to flaunt the dazzling beauty of its divine origins.
The Isola d’Elba timepiece is stylish and reliable, guaranteeing exceptional technical performance. The steel and titanium case is broad and sturdy, produced to the same technical specifications as the Aviatore, the iconic collection that LOCMAN produces in partnership with the Italian air force.
The Isola d’Elba quartz chronograph movement also offers a split-time function for calculating intermediate times, for example when measuring two actions that start together but proceed over different timespans.
The ladies’ version of Isola d’Elba, vaunts the same reliability and technical excellence.
The dial is available with a refined sunburst motif or in a more precious version with natural mother-of-pearl handset with diamonds on the hour-markers.
The case housing a quartz movement is fitted with a screw-down titanium back and teamed with an elegant stainless steel bracelet or a natural, padded leather strap with contrasting stitching.
Water resistance is guaranteed to 5 ATM (50 metres).
In the men’s version in addition to the central chronograph sweep-seconds hand, the Isola d’Elba features three small subdials: a 30-minute chronograph counter, at 9 o’clock; running seconds at 3 o’clock; and tenths of a second at 6 o’clock. The latter hand is activated by starting the chronograph and stops after 30 seconds, thereby ensuring the right level of energy saving, without interrupting measurement. In point of fact, when the chronograph stop button is pressed, the tenths-of-a-second hand will stop at the tenth actually calculated.
