Beyond being a visionary account of a journey through the afterlife, Dante’s poem is universally recognised as a detailed portrait of 14th-century culture and customs. Within this grand narrative are meaningful references to the existence of mechanical clocks in Tuscany at the time, confirming Italy’s long-standing watchmaking tradition.

Locman Italy
Locman XXIV Canto was created through the collaboration between Sandro Fratini and Marco Mantovani, President and founder of Locman. The collection pays tribute to the Divine Comedy and to the Twenty-Fourth Canto of Paradiso, where Dante associates the movement of souls with the precision of a mechanical clock. It is a reference to Italy’s long watchmaking tradition, reinterpreted through a contemporary and meaningful design.
Locman Italy
The lightweight yet resistant 40 mm polished titanium case houses Swiss Made movements chosen to offer different interpretations of mechanical watchmaking. The hand-wound chronograph version is powered by the Sellita SW510, while the Sellita SW200 automatic movement provides a practical and reliable alternative. The titanium case back, fitted with a smoked crystal window, offers a view of the mechanism and highlights the watch’s technical heart.
Locman Italy
The guilloché dial combines a smooth enamelled outer section with a central geometric decoration designed to enhance its luminosity. The light, highly legible Arabic numerals recall the aesthetic of vintage timepieces, while the stylised helm at the centre reaffirms Locman’s connection with the sea. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal and water resistance to 100 metres complete the collection.
