Montecristo Automatic Chronograph

In the Tuscan Archipelago, far from the usual tourist routes, lies a wild and mysterious island: Montecristo. With its rocky shores and crystal-clear waters, it was designated a “biogenetic integral nature reserve” in 1971.

Today, the island is virtually uninhabited, but in centuries past it was first a place of worship dedicated to Jupiter and later home to an ancient Christian monastery, from which it takes its name. Legend has it that the monks gradually amassed great power and wealth—enough to attract corsairs, who destroyed the monastery in 1553 while searching for a fabulous treasure.

It was Alexandre Dumas who brought this legend back to life in his celebrated novel The Count of Monte Cristo, introducing the island’s wonders to the world. Since then, Montecristo has remained an unattainable myth: a place of the heart, steeped in charm and secrets.
