LOCMAN sponsored the international regatta "Toscana Elba Cup - Trofeo Locman" to be held on May 10th-18th
It's going to be party time on the Isola d'Elba on the second edition of the regatta "Toscana Elba Cup - Trofeo Locman".
The breathtakingly beautiful sea right in front of Portoferraio will be the starting point of a competition which includes many a protagonist of the America's Cup: Paolo Cian from Italy (the skipper of Mascalzone Latino in Hauraki Bay), James Spithill from Australia (the skipper of the American One World, which beat Luna Rossa in the semifinals), Magnus Holmberg from Sweden (the skipper and tactics man of Victory Challenge), Andy Beadsworth from England (GBR Challenge), Luc Pillot and Sébastien Destremeau (Le Defi) from France, Ed Baird from the US, the former official technical commentator of New Zealand television during the 31st edition of the America's Cup. Besides, this year the Locman Trophy has been included in the schedule of the international Swedish Match Tour circuit, which gathers the 10 best sailing events in the world.
Of course, an enticing, exciting series of social events has also been organized: every evening there will be a party culminating, on Saturday 17th, in the prize award Gala, when the winners will be awarded the LOCMAN Trophy, a sculpture by the Tuscan artist Pietro Cascella. The competition will surely attract sailing lovers, yacht producers, and VIPs from both the world of finance and the showbiz.
For LOCMAN, a brand that stands out in the world of Italian watchmaking, the competition will provide a perfect opportunity to assert its "Elba roots": although backed up by an international structure boasting branches in Tokyo, Paris, and New York, the company has in fact always insisted in keeping its headquarters at Marina di Campo. The offices facing the beautiful bay of Campo are indeed the very cradle of LOCMAN watches, the place where LOCMAN models are so beautifully designed that they have become real cult accessories all over the world. Trendy, exclusive, made with hi-tech materials such as titanium and carbon fiber, they can be seen more and more often on the wrists of VIPs and celebrities and frequently appear on the glossy pages of the most glamorous international magazines.
In keeping with the style of the company, the LOCMAN Trophy is therefore a "strong" way to assert its unbreakable links with the Isola d'Elba, an event where natural elements are expressed in all their might, with the wind, the sea, and the sun all challenging man in a race against time run according to the noble rules of sailing. Every moment is precious in the LOCMAN world, whether it's to win a regatta or to strike the passing of time of a creative life, because on a small island of the Thyrrhenian sea people know exactly the value of time.
