LOCMAN PRESENTS ITS NEW LINE OF DIVERS’WATCHES REALIZED AS A LIMITED EDITION TESEO TESEI

LOCMAN’S new brand of divers’watches is dedicated to Teseo Tesei, an Italian hero, a legendary diver, born at Marina di Campo on the Island of Elba.


Teseo Tesei was a spirit talented and romantic together, with a great passion for the sea. As an officer of the Naval Engineers’Corps, an engineering graduate, certainly endowed with an unconventional mind, he was the charismatic chief of the glorious Raider Corps of the Italian Navy. In 1935, this man, gifted with great inventiveness and persistence, a “philosopher without writings”(as his biographer Gianni Bianchi defined him), presented the project of a very small underwater vehicle that revolutionized the classical schemes of international naval strategy. In 1941 he died in combat for his country.

At the end of last Summer LOCMAN, that established its headquarters on the Island of Elba just a few steps from the house where Teseo Tesei was born, wanted to pay a homage to the island and its hero by dedicating him a watch line linked to the same sea that had inspired Teseo Tesei.

The presentation of TESEO TESEI will be held – with the brand of the Italian Navy, authorized by the Ministry of Defense, on Saturday, September 24, 2005 in Elba. It will be accompanied by the publication of the Elban officer’s biography edited by Locman.

The TESEO TESEI model, a just-time watch equipped with a manual-winding movement, is a diver’s watch featuring a high water resistance, provided with a high-technology case finely finished in any detail.
The case in titanium and stainless steel, made up by three pieces fastened together by means of four screws, shows refined contrasts of polished and brushed surfaces. In the 9-hours position the TESEO TESEI logo is acid-engraved on a small tag screwed on the case. On the case’s opposite side, the waterproof winding crown is positioned with a screwed-on case-protection element.
The dial features large applied Arabic numerals and hour markers, surrounded by an applied embossed minute track. The strap in rubber and ray-skin is linked with the case by means of a screwed attachment.
The caseback, provided with a motive representing three rhythmic waves, is decorated with the embossed Teseo Tesei and LOCMAN logos.
This model is water resistant to 300 meters.

The TESEO TESEI model is available in Oversize version with mechanical manual-winding movement (Ref.190) or Medium size with automatic mechanical movement (Ref. 191). Both the models can find with a silver, blue or black dial and straps in ray-skin, natural maran, black rubber and ray-skin.
