LOCMAN FOR THE ITALIAN ARMED FORCES: IN 2008, A WATCH DEDICATED TO THE “FOLGORE” PARACHUSTISTS TROOPERS

Following on from the success of the line of military watches introduced by the Locman Group in cooperation with the Italian Air Force and the Italian Navy, the watch company based on the Island of Elba is announcing a broader-scale project that will see the brand cooperating with all wings of the armed forces in creating memorable dedicated editions. The first Corps to which Locman will pay tribute is the Brigata Paracadusti Folgore – the acclaimed Italian army “lightning” parachutists brigade – with a limited series watch that will carry the Folgore’s distinctive emblem, the yellow bolt of lightning with a winged gladius against a blue background The cooperation between the Italian Armed Forces and the Locman Group, which began in 2005 with the launch of the Teseo Tesei underwater watch dedicated to the homonymous World War II hero from Elba, led in 2006 to an agreement between the Italian Navy and the watch brand, granting exclusive use of the name and logo of the famous elite troops. 2007 has witnessed an agreement with the Italian Air Force to create exclusive timepieces featuring its insignia stamped on the dial. The six watches composing the Tremila-Aeronautica Militare limited series were designed and produced according to the specific demands of extreme aeronautical and aerobatics use. The military watches developed by the Locman Group are distinguished by cutting-edge constructions featuring top-quality mechanisms and materials such as titanium, carbon, steel and rubber, all of which are already widely used for military and aerospace purposes.
